Call for Serbian Companies to Embrace the Circular Economy – Grow Sustainably, Efficiently and Resiliently
Belgrade, 20th May 2025 – Small and medium-sized enterprises in Serbia now have the opportunity to enhance their business operations and adopt sustainable, resource-efficient models with expert support, through the transition towards a circular economy — an approach that reduces waste, increases competitiveness and helps protect the environment.
Within the EU for Circular Economy in Serbia project, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the European Union invite businesses in the textile and food processing sectors (dairy, meat, fruit and vegetables) to apply for a tailored support program aimed at developing actionable circular economy transition plans. The goal is to empower Serbian companies to adopt smarter, cleaner production processes and open new pathways to growth, resilience, and integration with modern market practices.
Selected companies will benefit from a fully funded support package that includes environmental review, expert-led trainings, study visits to EU countries, mentorship, and the development of a customised circular business action plan.
The EU-funded project, which runs from January 2025 to January 2027, also includes awareness-raising campaigns, educational events and practical tools aimed at institutions, businesses, and citizens to foster broader understanding and participation in the circular economy.
An online info session for interested companies will take place on 26 May 2025, with registration required by 23 May. The public call remains open until 6 June 2025. Applications should be submitted via email to: cfa-companies.circularserbia@ntu.eu , with the subject line: Application for Circular Economy Business Plan Support.
On behalf of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the project is implemented by international organisations NTU International and Global Factor, with financial support from the European Union. The public call is organised in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities. This is an opportunity for Serbian companies to lead the transition toward a greener, more innovative and sustainable economy.
