Read moreThe fact is that mathematics and
physics are difficult for many to understand, and that the sentence "the
cell is the basic unit of structure and function of living beings" is
sometimes all we can remember from biology classes. However, without science,
there is not only development, but also life that we are already used to. That
is why it is necessary to help those who are already good at these demanding
sciences.
So, how can one help the domestic
scientific community?
It is important to know that,
although Serbia is not a member of the European Union, it has received
significant assistance in this and other areas. Thus, one of the programmes to
support science - Horizon - has been available in our country for years. Horizon
Europe is currently in use, intended for researchers and innovators, and will
be available until 2027.
The European Union's support for
innovation and competitiveness in Serbia is worth more than 200 million euros
for the period from 2014 until today. The funds intended for this sector are
used to encourage the quality of science, innovation and connections with
European and international scientists and entrepreneurs, which increases the
competitiveness of the Serbian economy. What exactly does that mean?
The researchers from the
Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, a widely respected
institution, have participated in several projects from the previous Horizon
cycle. The director of the Institute, Dr. Jegor Miladinović, told us about how
much it benefited them.
"Participation in such
projects is important for at least two reasons: the first - the status of the
Institute and scientists, and their recognition among European colleagues, and
the second is, of course, finances. European Union projects, i.e. Horizon
projects, are the best way to get new equipment, chemicals, to disseminate our
scientific papers, to travel and meet colleagues," said director
Miladinović at the time.
So, there is no reason to hesitate
a second! See how you can become a HorizonEurope
beneficiary.
