The project Pulse of Europe – media trips to EU has issued an amended Call for proposals adapted to work in the Covid-19 pandemic situation and based on online activities, due to the impossibility of organising trips to EU countries.
The call is open to all media in Serbia – national, regional and local, electronic, print and internet media – provided that the Code of Ethics (Code of Journalists of Serbia) and professional and ethical standards are respected. Journalists wishing to participate should submit a proposal for a topic to be covered in a particular EU country and its short synopsis, as well as obtain permission from the editorial board/editor-in-chief to participate. The application form is available here.
The project will provide all the technical conditions for holding Zoom meetings with interlocutors abroad, simultaneous translation, as well as preparatory meetings with domestic experts whose expertise is necessary for writing articles/reports. Journalists whose proposals are accepted and who will participate in this phase automatically acquire the right to participate in a media visit to the same EU country in 2021, in order to make a follow up of their article published on the basis of online activities.
Media visits to EU countries will be organised as soon as travel restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic are lifted.
The project “Pulse of Europe – media trips to EU” has started in February 2020 and will last until August 2022. The project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe Institute in cooperation with the Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia and the Center for Cultural Decontamination.
