In the largest city in Srem, Sremska Mitrovica, a large project of support to Serbia for the separation of recyclable material (household waste) in 17 municipalities in Serbia will be presented on May 30 at 11 am on the main city square: Sremska Mitrovica, Sabac, Sid, Bogatic, Uzice , Čačak, Ivanjica, Čajetina, Požega, Lučani, Bajina Bašta, Kosjerić, Pirot, Babušnica, Bela Palanka, Dimitrovgrad and Pancevo.
The project "O-DVA-JA-MO" is implemented by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia with the assistance of the European Union and the Swedish Embassy. The project provides expertise and equipment to local authorities in order to design and improve the on-site waste separation system.
On that occasion, the event will be officially opened by high officials in Sremska Mitrovica, the municipality that is the first to be ready to implement the program of household waste separation, which will mark the beginning of the "EU Green Week" in Serbia.
