Belgrade, 30 October 2025 – Five Serbian companies – Dax Intimo, Global Sistem Kooperativa, Jasmil, PS Fashion, and Ribella Foods – have signed Memoranda of Cooperation (MoC) with the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) under the project “EU for Circular Economy in Serbia”, marking a significant step forward in their transition towards sustainable and circular production models. The initiative is implemented with the support of the European Union.
The MoCs formalise cooperation with businesses selected following an open call for companies in the food and textile sectors in Serbia. Initiative aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) develop practical business models and action plans for introducing circular economy principles into their daily operations.

Through their participation in the project, the companies will benefit from expert mentoring, training, technical advice, and study visits to EU countries that demonstrate best practices in circular economy implementation. The support also includes the preparation of Initial Environmental Reviews, the development of customised circular business models, and guidance on accessing financing opportunities for sustainable initiatives. The ultimate goal is to strengthen the sustainability, resilience, and competitiveness of Serbian SMEs by integrating circular principles into their core operations and long-term strategies.

Concretely, by joining this cooperation, Dax Intimo, Global Sistem Kooperativa, Jasmil, PS Fashion, and Ribella Foods will explore innovative ways to reduce waste, improve resource efficiency, and adopt production models that extend product lifecycles and minimise environmental impact. Their participation contributes to Serbia’s broader effort to align with European standards and advance the green transition across key industrial sectors. The selection of the food processing and textile sectors reflects the need to address environmental challenges in industries with high resource use and waste generation. The five selected companies are working on circular economy initiatives that include introducing more sustainable approaches to reducing textile waste, reusing industrial water through innovative technologies, and improving energy efficiency across different stages of production.
The project “EU for Circular Economy in Serbia” is an EU-funded project, supporting Serbia’s transition towards a circular economy, aligned with the Green Agenda and EU accession process. The project is implemented by NTU International and Global Factor, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection. It represents a long-term partnership between Serbian institutions, the private sector, and the European Union to foster sustainable growth and environmental responsibility throughout the country.
