Training of data protection officers for the implementation of the Law on Personal Data Protection from more than 50 city public institutions was held in the Hall of the Assembly of the City of Kruševac.
The training was conducted by representatives of the Office of the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Protection of Personal Data, with the support of the multi-donor “Facility supporting strengthening rule of law in the Republic of Serbia" (EU FOR FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION AND FOR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS) co-financed by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The
aim of the training is to familiarize data protection officers or other persons designated by controllers and
processors of personal data (if they do not have designated data protection officers), to be introduced to current legal solutions
(in the EU and the Republic of Serbia) and to enable them to properly implement
the Law on Personal Data Protection. On-site trainings, which will be implemented in
the forthcoming period in 15 selected local self-government units, are
particularly important for raising the capacity of personal data protection. In
addition, panel discussions will be organized on the topic of personal data
protection, which primarily aim to raise awareness of the general public and
inform citizens.
