MICS (Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey) represents a survey programme that is globally prepared by UNICEF in cooperation with various UN agencies. The survey is implemented working together with National Statistical Institutes on five-year basis.
This is the sixth MICS round in Serbia and the survey is anticipated to be implemented in the period from 2 September to 10 November 2019.
The survey compiles the various indicators primarily on the status of women and children, then on the status of families, marginalized population groups, etc.
MICS is the only data source for numerous indicators concerning child protection, early education (pre-school attendance), issues of immunization (vaccination of children), general education, education of the Roma population, then family health issues, nutrition habits, etc.
The objective of the survey is to help ensuring indicators that are not existent in administrative sources and as data from other surveys.
All data are compiled in accordance with the Official Statistics Law, they represent official secret and shall be published in aggregated form only.
The survey is implemented as a joint action carried out by the EU Delegation in Serbia, UNICEF and SORS.
