Awareness raising panels on personal data protection in Eastern Serbia

Panel discussions on monitoring the new Law on Personal Data Protection took place in Negotin and Požarevac on April 15 and 16, 2024. Attended by controllers, civil society representatives, and media, Commissioner Milan Marinović and Deputy Commissioner Sanja Unković were present, alongside project representatives. Aimed at enhancing implementation, discussions covered current data protection status and the Commissioner's role. The forthcoming sessions in 15 local self-government units aim to boost public awareness.

The project "Strengthening the Rule of Law in the Republic of Serbia" (EU FOR FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION AND FOR FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS) is jointly funded by the EU and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The implementation of project activities related to personal data protection is in charge of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
